Xwing vs. Tie Fighter was one of the very first online games. Considering Space Combats it's still unreached even by its successor XWA
which in fact sucked bad by its very very poor online gaming quality. GFS was formed in February 1998 and used to hang around the Gaming Zone when XvT was still very
popular and we succeeded quite well in the Week of War which was initiated by the darkjedi.org. Actually we even mananged to finish
among the top three teams a few times. XvT is now dead more or less, GFS is as well, what's still there of us is nothing compared
to what it used to be. I am Abaddon, founder and creator of the GFS XvT webpages. Personally I'm no longer active in what is left of
the GFS as I actually don't consider it as the Clan that I formed once upon a time. Anyway, I moved the XvT pages to the new URL http://www.gfs-base.de
and tried to update them a little and fixed some links. Actually very many of the links which can be found in the sections don't work anymore
as the pages they were referred to simply don't exist anymore. what's still workable is the very huge download section, which contains almost everything
that is good and usefull for the game. I updated even the ImpTac Shippatches as it, to my very surprise, was updated in 2003.
Unfortunately there are not many Clans left that play XvT, even Microsoft moved the game from the direct play rooms in the gaming zone to Lan rooms
as there isn't enough demand for it anymore.
Anyway, it was a great time to be part of the online life time of this game
